Tayes - Extracts from the Memoirs of William G. Tayes (*1838 - †1902),
patient No. 1864 at Lauderdale House between 1875 and 1878.

The site-specific installation Tayes comments on ideas of history and memory within the setting of a historic place.
It consists of a recorded actors voice telling a fictitious monologue dealing with the recollection of a past event with varying emotional intensity and a small TV monitor relaying images.
The changing light levels in the room would move the viewers' attention from the visual to the aural and vice versa, thus fragmenting the experience of the ongoing narrative.
